It’s official: Team Turducken is born as Keith Tyser’s ARC Slayers join Son, Mark and Ronen

Off the gossip wire, onto the record
Yesterday the gossip desk had only a whisper. Today it has the paperwork. Son Pham’s ARC-3 team—Son Pham, Mark Barney and Ronen—has merged with Keith Tyser’s team, the ARC Slayers. Son sent the formal Kaggle team invite and the Slayers accepted. The champagne we told you to keep on ice can come out.
Who is on the roster
From Son’s side: Son Pham, Mark Barney and Ronen. From the ARC Slayers: Keith Tyser, NT (mitubant on Kaggle), dzj (Chris-440 on GitHub) and kawaimahiro. Son is coordinating the combined team’s submissions.
The name: Team Turducken
The naming drama is settled. The merged squad rolls out as Team Turducken: three crews nested into one bird, the way a chicken goes inside a duck inside a turkey. Son says the name is also partly a tip of the hat to the Tufa team and to Daniel Franzen, whose public work the squad builds on. The Digest notes, with no small satisfaction, that a duck inside a duck inside a bird was already our branding department’s pick. Team Allegedly may now retire with honour.

Mark Barney, the Digest’s head human editor, is a member of the merged team. These facts come from the team’s own messages on 18 October; the public leaderboard will reflect the merged roster once it refreshes. The artwork is the team’s own and is imaginative, not documentary.
